NHED is a member of a coalition working collaboratively to strengthen the Nigeria regulations on Trans Fatty Acids (TFAs). It is also to advocate for the reduction in the level of trans fatty acids in Nigerian foods thereby reducing the population’s risks from cardiovascular diseases and contributing to nutritional health in the control of non-communicable diseases. The coalition members are Network for Health Equity and Development (NHED), Environmental Rights Action (ERA), Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Heart Foundation, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) and WHO.
